Public Health Entrepreneurs®

I enrolled in this course feeling frustrated in my attempts to engage and apply the knowledge and concepts I have gained through my academic program. With the multitude of resources currently available to develop public health skills, I felt lost in trying to determine what is relevant and a worthwhile time investment. This program provided the connection between academic knowledge and practical application. The thoughtfully organized sessions guided me through creating an achievable plan to identify and engage with resources that will develop the skill sets needed to successfully transition from the academic setting into the public health workforce. Dr. Huntley increased my confidence by prompting me to reconnect with my creative self and rethink how I engage with MY journey into public health. This program should be included in every public health program’s career services and professional planning resources – I highly recommend this for any public health student!

This course helped me to develop a foundation for a mindset and a framework for my skills needed to gain experience in public health. I think that students or recent graduates who do not have opportunities to obtain experience at their institutions or locally will especially appreciate this course. It makes public health experiences accessible to any student interested.

Even though I was already familiar with getting experience in public health, I realized that it is much more than just getting some work experience.
